I bought my Stearns and Foster Fairmont Signature Bed about 2 years ago after sleeping on it at the Fairmont Sonoma. One tip: ask the hotel how old the beds are. I asked the manager and he said that their beds were about 5 years old so fully broken in and comfy. He, as well as the fairmont store customer service staff, advised to consider an additional topper on top of the bed at first. Indeed, when I got the new bed, the top layer did feel quite firm as brand new. What I did was add an additional 1.5 inch soft memory foam topper for the first year and a half. At that point, the bed's own topper had softened up a bit and broken in, so now I'm sleeping directly on the bed, and its broken in and comfy, and hope it lasts for years to come! The 5 year old ones in Fairmont Sonoma were super comfy and not worn out at all.
